The frontlines stretch from Norway to the waters of the Black Sea. Nevertheless due to the gigantic scale of the theatre of operations the book narrates those daily ground and air actions taking place between the Baltic and the Black Seas. It is the initial fighting scenario of the three German army groups against the Soviet «Northern», «Northwestern», «Western», «Southwestern» and «Southern» military districts. A huge terrain extension of more than 1,500 kilometres.
